Conveyancing FAQ

What is PEXA?

'PEXA' stands for the Property Exchange Australia, it is the leading Electronic Lodgement Network (ELN) in Australia. Essentially this is a nationally recognised system that provides for fast, safe and efficient property settlement.

Long gone are the days of physically attending settlement with paper cheques exchanging across a table. E-Conveyancing is now mandatory for all property transactions in Victoria.

What is land transfer duty and how much will I have to pay?

Land transfer duty or more commonly referred to as 'stamp duty', is a Government tax that will apply to certain transactions.

Some factors that will affect the duty payable is:

  • Regional commercial, industrial and extractive industries property concession.

  • Foreign purchaser additional duty.

  • Principal place of residence concession.

  • First home buyer duty exemption, concession or reduction.

As part of our service our team will complete your duties statement online. In which we will consult with you to ensure we apply for all applicable duties you instruct us upon.

If you are interested in seeking an estimation on the duty payable please click the stamp duty calculator button below.
